About This Site

This website – its images, videos, and content – is a multi-year project created by William Haun.

Its primary goal is to promote tourism and interest in Ghana’s North East Region.

Over the course of his research, William has worked with dozens of traditional chiefs and drummers of Mamprugu, documenting their oral traditions. He also partnered with the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board in their conservation and education efforts in the region. He reported the previously undocumented archaeological site of Kpatiritinga to the Board as well as his new discovery of rock carvings at Gingana Mountain.

William first came with his family to Mamprugu over a decade ago and they settled in Nalerigu in 2014. His love for all things Mamprusi has earned him the chieftaincy title Sulimiinsi Na’akyinaaba (“Chief of the Young White Men”).
